yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone...
Each day I publish something different. Replacing what I published yesterday.
ephemeral *
i-ˈfe-mə-rəl
: lasting a very short time
Why this ephemeral approach?
For several reasons.
rebellion.
I'm not beholden to Google and SEO. I don't want AI bots stealing and perverting my work. I'm aware that I am a peon in the Meta empire, but I don't give a gnat's tit about their rule book. Therefore, my work is only momentarily available to avoid being fodder for the insatiable appetites of digital demons. I chart my own course. I want people to discover my work by good old word-of-mouth.
I don't give a gnat's tit about their rule book.
focus. clarity.
There is so much pervading our headspace from all angles. Incessant visual noise. Minions clamoring for your attention.
I'm not here to entice you to click-click-click to consume content-content-content. I have no designs to drip-drip-drip until you're sucked into the vortex of a sales funnel.
Rather, I want to offer a moment where you can declutter your mind and experience a few meaningful minutes that bring laughter, hope, insight, and relief.
anticipation. curiosity.
I want you to look forward to visiting my site each day. To discover something unexpected. To be surprised, and occassionally shocked. Consider it a serendipitous encounter.
serendipity
ser-ən-ˈdi-pə-tē
: the phenomenon of unexpectedly finding something of value
I do plan to offer access to prior-published work with a subscription in the near future. This is not a bait-and-switch tactic, nor am I discrediting my aforementioned intent. I am acknowledging two realities. First, my work has value. Secondly, having the opportunity to experience my cumulative collection of work provides additional and recurring benefit to those who find it meaningful (or mysterious).
